bG Gallery presents an exhibit where humor and art intersect. Humor, like art, is elemental, universal and yet extremely difficult to analyze. It works as a mode of expression, a cultural artifact.

Some artists use humor to grab our attention as a tool to draw us into subtler messages, and others simply to provoke laughter and provide amusement. Many times the artwork treads the fine line between humor, absurdity, controversy, offense, vulgarity, comedy and art.

“Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he isn’t. A sense of humor was provided to console him for what he is.”   –Horace Walpole
