Intern Pick of the Week: Ralph Allen Massey
By: Larisa Babakhanian

Ralph Allen Massey’s painting called “Protective Coloring” is my pick of the week. It is an 24 5/8 x 32 3/4 inch acrylic on panel painting.
I picked this painting because of how it made me feel when I first saw it. It captured me with the brilliant use of color scheme and the detailed work he put in the painting. He has made an abstract painting come to life by the use of frogs! There are more than 60 frogs in this painting but from a distance they camoflage together and look like an abstract spectrum of colors.

The work will be featured in the Day Dreamers show opening this April 22, 2017.
